Vidya Balan & Shefali Shah come together for Suresh Triveni’s ‘Jalsa’

Following her performance in the recently released film ‘Sherni’ (2021), Vidya Balan is teaming up with producer Vikram Malhotra once again. This time she has signed director Suresh Triveni’s next drama, which will also star Shefali Shah.

According to reports, ‘Jalsa’ is the title of the film starring the pair. This title is claimed to have been locked by the producers since it fits in well with the plot. However, sources have clarified that the term has nothing to do with Amitabh Bachchan’s Juhu residence, which has become a symbol in Mumbai for Hindi film fans, reports Box Office Worldwide. Balan and Shah will play central roles in the film, which is a drama thriller about social class differences.

The film, which is written by Triveni and a team of other writers, will begin shooting in Mumbai in September. The director has reportedly begun pre-production and is awaiting Shah’s dates before finalising the filming schedule. Shah is currently finishing two films before beginning jumping into ‘Jalsa.’

Balan is currently having a break before returning to new filming.
