2013’s ‘Lootera’ was a film that won many hearts. However, although today’s audience may not be able to imagine it without Ranveer Singh and Sonakshi Sinha, it seems the film could’ve had a different cast a few years back. Vidya Balan has explained that the film was offered to her.
“In 2007 ‘Lootera’ came to me, John (Abraham) and I were supposed to do it. Then, we decided not to make it. Later, Vikramaditya Motwane went on to do ‘Udaan’, and we all went on to do other films. Then I heard that Ranveer and Sonakshi are doing it,” said Balan, according to TOI.
“I watched the film and loved Sonakshi in it. There was one song ‘Monta Re’, and you know my affection towards anything Bengali. So I felt, if I had done the movie, this song would have been filmed on me. The film was great with them; I only wish that I had that one song,” concluded the actress.
Balan was seen recently in ‘Kahaani 2’ (2016) which is faring well at the box office.
