Vidya Balan forbidden from grooming herself

Vidya Balan’s look in her upcoming film, ‘Begum Jaan’ has undoubtedly caught the attention of fans and critics. Srijit Mukherji, who has directed the film, has gone on record to reveal that he forbade the actors of his film from grooming themselves.

Mukherjee told Deccan Chronicle, “I ensured most of the women didn’t have any make up on, so that we could take it to a realistic zone. I also forbade Vidya and most other actors from waxing or threading eyebrows, so you have that wild, rugged look. It’s a very earthy and realistic kind of space they’ve worked in.”

The director added that he wanted to bring back the “baddie avatar” of Balan which was previously seen in ‘Ishqiya’ (2010) and ‘The Dirty Picture’ (2011).

‘Begun Jaan’ also stars reality TV star Gauahar Khan and releases on 17th March.
