Vidya Balan “feels good” about recent CBFC changes

Vidya Balan has spoken about her delight at the recent changes incorporated at the Censor Board of Film Certification (CBFC) after the exit of Pahlaj Nihalani.

Balan, who herself is now a member of the board felt good that there were “like-minded” people at the CBFC, with Prasoon Joshi taking over a chairperson of the board. Balan was questioned about her take on the board over the first month of new changes. Without giving much away, she was cited telling The Indian Express “that all like-minded people are on the board.”

About her new duty, she said, “I thought if I don’t say yes to this, I’d lose the right to criticise any decision ever taken by the CBFC. I thought I was ready to shoulder the responsibility. I don’t want to say anything about what our approach is going to be or what our decisions are going to be based on.”

Balan will soon commence promotions for her next film ‘Tumhari Sulu’ out this December.
