Vicky Kaushal on working with Nawazuddin in ‘Raman Raghav 2.0’

Vicky Kaushal’s net is Anurag Kashyap’s ‘Raman Raghav 2.0’ in which he will be seen sharing the screen with Nawazuddin Siddiqui.

Kaushal shared his experience working with Siddiqui in a recent interview with Filmfare, “I had assisted Anurag Kashyap in Gangs of Wasseypur (GOW). So from giving claps in front of Nawazuddin Siddiqui to finally acting with him after five years��_ it was great. To be directed by Anurag Sir and acting out a scene with Nawaz bhai felt too surreal and I felt as if a circle got completed. Nawaz bhai has not changed one bit – he is still as grounded and polite as before. He is outstanding and openly shares his experiences. He never gives you a vibe of seniority.”

He also divulged about his time as assistant director with Kashyap, “I assisted because I wanted to get a ground reality of how a film is made. I�۪m glad that it was under Anurag Sir who made GOW using limited resources, real locations, less luxuries in limited time. He doesn�۪t spoon-feed you ��and I love that aspect about him. He will give you an open field to fall and learn from your own mistakes. Everything I know about filmmaking is from him. He is my mentor and one of the most approachable directors in the industry who gives you the opportunity to fall and fail if need be. There�۪s no hierarchy on his set – it�۪s a team where everyone wants to make a film. I feel like I�۪m in the right direction.”

‘Raman Raghav 2.0’, after being screened at Cannes this year, will release on 24th June.
