Vicky Kaushal: “It was always a dream to work with Karan Johar”

Vicky Kaushal who will be next seen in the Alia Bhatt starrer ‘Raazi’, says it was always his dream to work with Karan Johar.

Reported on DNA India, Kaushal explains how being cast by a film producer & director like Johar is really good for the confidence. “It was always a dream to work with a person like him (Karan) and it feels great when a filmmaker like him casts you in his films. When you get an opportunity to work in good films like ‘Raazi’, it boosts your confidence to know that good filmmakers are willing to work with you.”

Kaushal who was attending the 19th edition of the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards voting weekend, shared how overjoyed he was from the response to the teaser of Ranbir Kapoor’s next, ‘Sanju’. The ‘Masaan’ (2015) actor who will also feature in the film said, “We got 30 million hits for the teaser and it is trending in India, the US and other countries. I was with Raju sir yesterday for dubbing (of the film) and we all very excited. It is a special story of a special person. I can’t talk about the film and my role at the moment. Once the trailer is out, you will see other actors as well.”

Kaushal will also be appearing in the Johar’s sequel to ‘Bombay Talkies’ (2013), which will also star Kiara Advani and Neha Duphia.

The ‘Raman Raghav 2.0’ (2016) star whose other project this year includes Anurag Kashyap’s ‘Manmarziyaan’ said they have wrapped up the shoot. “We were shooting for two months in Amritsar and Kashmir. The editing is on and the film will release on September 7.”

Kaushal who will be part of IIFA 2018, says he’s happy to be involved again. “My favourite memory of IIFA is when I received an award for best debut actor for ‘Masaan’ in 2015.”

‘Raazi’ which has been directed by Meghna Gulzar, will be releasing on the 11th May.
