Veteran lyricist Dev Kohli passes away, aged 80

Veteran lyricist Dev Kohli has passed away, aged 80.

The funeral took place this afternoon at his home in Jupiter Apartment, Mumbai. The last rites will be performed at Oshiwara Crematorium, Jogeshwari West by 18:00.

Kohli was renowned for some of the biggest tracks in the Indian film industry including ‘Yeh Kaali Kaali Ankhein’, ‘Maaye Ni Maaye’ and ‘Aate Jaate Hanste Gaate’.

He started of his career with the 1969 soundtrack ‘Gunda’.
