Venus TV launches selection of new shows

Venus TV is beefing up its programmes, a month after its launch and takeover from previous broadcaster ATN Global.

The entertainment channel catering for Hindi and Urdu speaking viewers will be launching up to seven new shows over the next few days.

The first begins tonight called Mumbai Masala, which will be an anchor driven show featuring Bollywood gossip, star interviews and new movie releases.

Two new Urdu sitcoms will commence on the channel, the first Hato Bacho will screen Saturday nights starting from tomorrow (28th January) at 19:00. The other Don’t Worry will air on Tuesday evenings starting from 31st January.

A weekend special programme for children called Kids Zone will air Sundays from 29th January at 18:00.

Former BBC Asian Network and Club Asia presenter Ray C joins the reins of Venus TV for his new weekly chat show called simply Ray C Show. It will air Monday nights at 20:00 from 30th January.

An Urdu drama serial based on social and moral issues of society called Anokha Bandhan will also jazz up Tuesday nights at 20:00.

Hindi comedy series focussing on war of words between a daughter-in-law and mother-in-law called Sau Din Saas Kay will air Saturday nights at 19:30 beginning from 4th February.

These changes are only the start for the new look channel and the broadcaster has said it will be launching many more new shows and films to entice new viewers to the channel. “We at Venus are now launching new programmes every week and working to make our weekly FPC better,” the channel told Biz Asia.
