‘Veere Di Wedding’ must have title changed?

It has been a frustrating time for Anil Kapoor’s family on learning that’s Jimmy Sheirgill is currently shooting for a film titled ‘Veerey Ki Wedding’ as the Kapoor’s had announced their home production, ‘Veere Di Wedding’ last year. However, it seems the Sheirgill starrer will not be changing its name, thus leaving the Kapoor’s to do so instead.

Ashu Trikha, director of ‘Veerey Ki Wedding’, told Mid Day, “The association suggests that a trademark supersedes any other registration. Legally, we have supported our title with everything,”

A member of India’s Motion Pictures Producers Association is also quoted saying, “Anil will have to choose a new title, since shooting is yet to commence for his film. That’s the only way out.”

Kapoor’s film is scheduled to go on floors soon and will star Kareena Kapoor Khan and Sonam Kapoor.
