Varun Kapoor on playing jolly Dr Veer in ‘Savitri Devi’

Indian television’s much loved, Varun Kapoor has opened up about playing the young and fun Dr Veer character in the recently launched ‘Savitri Devi College & Hospital’ on Colors.

In an interview with Raj Baddhan on Sabras Radio’s ‘Drivetime’ show, Kapoor spoke about how challenging it is to play Dr Veer when he is polar opposites to him. He said, “When we started shooting [the show] I was a little under stress as to how I’m gonna do this, what’s gonna happen. But as time passes by…Now I’m totally enjoying playing this character. The writer and director are helping me.”

Probed further as to why he was so stressed, he said, “Because this [Dr Veer] is someone that is not me. Veer is not what Varun is and I am a very simple guy that leads a simple life but he is very loud in a way.”

Kapoor also touched up on the prank he played at his wedding, which prepared him for the role of Dr Veer. He also added that the character he played previously in ‘Swaragini’ – Sanskar, is now behind him and wanted to focus on Dr Veer.
