Varun Dhawan’s loss is Harshvardhan Kapoor’s gain?

The upcoming Sriram Raghavan untitled project was reportedly first offered to Varun Dhawan, before it was lapped up by newcomer, Harshvardhan Kapoor.

According to DNA India, the “black comedy” as its been described, was to see Dhawan play the lead as he did in Raghavan’s last film ‘Badlapur’ (2015) but Dhawan refused it. Raghavan was cited in the publication saying, ���The film is in progress, but not with Varun. It is a black comedy with a thriller element to it.”

The film is about a musician, who fakes being blind. A source told the publication why Dhawan may have turned down the film. It said, ���There�۪s already another film, Kaabil, about a blind man (played by Hrithik Roshan) coming before that and Varun was uncomfortable playing a blind man so soon after that.�۝

Adds the source, ���Playing a blind man entails a lot of research and time and the actor wants to focus on commercial entertainers right now. There would be obvious comparisons with Hrithik. Moreover, VD wasn�۪t convinced about the film�۪s commercial viability and so, turned it down.�۝

Tabu also plays a pivotal role in the film.
