Varun Dhawan is on every director’s hot list. After delivering three back to back hits, includingthe most recent ‘Badlapur,’ (2014) he is working with director Rohit Shetty in the much talked about ‘Diwale.’ The film will mark the comeback of iconic couple Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol after ‘My Name is Khan’in 2010.Dhawanwill be sharing screen space with them for the first time, but his current schedule in Goa, has been hit by protests from the Goan community.

BollywoodLife has reported that Dhawan was supposed to shoot on a major roadway in Goa’s capital. One of the roads, D.B. Road that surroundsthe Mandovi River, was blocked, leadingthemany angry commuters to break barricades, that were set in place for the shoot. The Entertainment Society of Goa regulatesallfilm shootsthat take place in Goa. CEO Raman Satardekarsays that there was no permission given to Shetty for shooting on the concerned area. “Permission was not given to block any road. They cannot block the roads like that.” Both Dhawan and Shetty were present at the time of the protests.

Before commencing with the shoot, Dhawanhad shared his enthusiasm on Twitter, and took the time to acknowledge all the love that he was receiving in the state. “Goa is now my second home for the next few weeks. Went out today and got so much love. You guys made my day.”

Dhawan is paired opposite Kriti Sanon in the film, and it is slated to release around Christmas 2015.
