Radhika Apte’s performance in Sriram Raghavan’s ‘Badlapur’ (2015) was well received. The film also created a good friendship between the actress and co-star Varun Dhawan. Now as her next, ‘Manjhi-The Mountain Man’ releases, Apte says that Dhawan’s compliments and criticism are important for her.

Dhawan had attended a special screening for ‘Manjhi’, and on his presence Apte said, as according to Pinkvilla, “His compliments and his criticism are both important to me. He is a very honest critic and we share that relationship. He’s extremely special to me.” She also added that the response to Manjhi has been positive, stating, “All have come to watch the film so I’m really excited they came today. It’s very sweet. So far whenever we’ve gone and whoever we’ve met, the response has been positive so fingers crossed.”

‘Manjhi-The Mountain Man’ also stars her other ‘Badlapur’ co-star Nawazuddin Siddiqui, andis based on the true story of Bihar’s Dashrath Manjhi, also known as the ‘Mountain Man’, who carved his way through a mountain with only a hammer and chisel. The film released on 21st August.
