Varun Dhawan: “Women should be treated equally”
Varun Dhawan has recently revealed why he found the character of Badri in ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’ particularly challenging. He has revealed that he learnt a lot about his own outlook while essaying the role.
“My whole outlook towards women changed after ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’. I am a boy who is brought up in Mumbai and I believe I am open-minded. But I realised that there were so many things my mind was not expanded to… There are things which Badri does and it makes him look like a chauvinist,” said Dhawan in an interview with PTI.
He went on to add, “I realise that women don’t want to get treated differently but just equally. I don’t know what feminism is all about but I understand that women should be treated equally and I endorse that thought”.
Dhawan will be seen opposite Alia Bhatt in the Shashank Khaitan directorial which releases on 10th March.
