Varun Dhawan steps into Govinda’s shoes for ‘Aankhen 2’?

While it is already known that Varun Dhawan has signed on for the sequel to his father David Dhawan’s ‘Judwaa’ (1997), it is now being speculated that a sequel is also on the cards for the 1993 comedy, ‘Aankhen’. ��The 1993 release, also directed by the senior Dhawan, starred Govinda and Chunky Pandey in lead roles, while the sequel will allegedly see Varun step into Govinda’s role.

Deccan Chronicle quote a source as saying,��”‘Aankhen 2’ will take the story forward. The main characters Bunnu and Munnu will remain the same but the actors will change.”

The film, produced by Pahlaj Nihalani, is expected to go on floors later this year and it is also being heard that Govinda and Pandey have been approached to make cameo appearances in the film.
