Varun Dhawan choreographs & raps for next releases

As Alia Bhatt gears up for the release of her second film ‘Highway’, her co-star from her first and next film, Varun Dhawan, is also busy with his next, titled ‘Main Tera Hero’. BizAsia has learnt that the actor has turned choreographer for one of the songs in the film. Not only that but he has rapped for Karan Johar produced ‘Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania’ in which he will star with Bhatt.

The song in ‘Main Tera Hero’ is a modern interpretation of the bhajan Bholenath and has been shot in Bangkok. A source told Mumbai Mirror, “Varun was quite nervous initially as he has never attempted anything like this before. But he had no choice but to follow his dad’s orders”.

The actor himself confirmed, “Dad simply started playing the song and asked me to get everybody into the groove. I wasn’t prepared for the camera but the mood on the set coupled with the pressure of the situation made me come up with the steps. By the end of the song I felt like I had directed an entire play!”

Talking about lending his voice in ‘Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania’, he says, “It was a daunting challenge but it worked beautifully for me. It drew in a lot from real-life experiences about the craziness of school, the thrill of sports, and of course, chasing girls”.
