With Varun Dhawan’s next being up for release later this month, the actor is all set to shed his loverboy image. Directed by Sriram Raghavan, ‘Badlapur’ will see Dhawan in a dark character and so much so will be the change in image that the actor has called 2015 a definitive year for him.
Talking to PTI, Dhawan said, “It will be a make or break year for me. I know we are underdogs but if ‘Badlapur’ works then it will be bigger than Rs 100 crore for me. It’s a different challenge. I just want the audience to like the film”.
On comparisons, the actor commented, “People often compare me with Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and young Govinda. But I just want to be next me. While growing yes I have seen these actors work and somehow they have an influence on me”
‘Badlapur’ also stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Divya Dutta, Huma Qureshi and Yami Gautam. It’s slated for release on 20th February.
