When Canada’s bid for the International Indian Film Academy awards (IIFAs) was rejected, it seems the Government officials there were mighty miffed. Instead, they have gone on to join hands with Times of India for a whole new awards ceremony, making its debut in April; Times of India Film Awards.

The Times of India group, who already organise the Filmfare Awards, is the biggest media house in the sub-continent. News also has it that Karan Johar and Chitrangada Singh are all set to be the event’s hosts with the former also looking to set his next romantic project in the vicinity.

Viewers, fans and audiences should get set because this will give birth to yet another set of awards sure to be attended by the all the big wigs of the film fraternity. The awards event will take place between 4th-6th April.
