Up & Coming TV launches on Sky Digital

A previously unidentified channel has launched today on Sky Digital as Up & Coming TV.

As the name suggests, the channel will be used as a platform to “micro-launch” third party channels. As Asian TV channels await for their official full launches on Sky Digital, they will now be able to promote their services through Up & Coming TV.

It�۪s become a rarity these days to launch on Sky Digital as a new broadcaster, unless you buy an existing EPG slot from another channel. Currently, Sky is no longer issuing new EPG slots due to hardware limitations on older Sky Digital boxes.

According to its website, the channel says that “by micro-launching, you can utilise your airtime to cost effectively satisfy your pre-launch objectives and strengthen your full launch vision.”

Up & Coming TV is a first of its kind in the UK, which will allow new broadcasters from around the world to give viewers a sample of their services prior to official launch.

The channel will broadcast programming in English and various Asian languages including Hindi, Urdu and Arabic.

Up & Coming TV currently boasts of the following channels associated to its service:
– Be Do Have TV (Health channel)
– Nasheed TV (Islamic channel)
– Property Channel DRTV (Property channel)
– Business Channel (Business & finance channel)
– Shaadi Channel (Asian wedding channel)

Up & Coming TV is available on Sky Digital channel 843.
