Touted as the official Bollywood channel, UMP Stars, has today begun testing off the Sky Digital EPG.

As reported exclusively on BizAsia yesterday, UMP Stars will be launching on Monday 11th June as a free-to-air entertainment channel.

The channel, which is known in India as UTV Stars, has been renamed similarly to sister channel UMP Movies in the UK – due to copyright reasons.

UMP Stars’ aim is to provide viewers intimate access to Bollywood superstars. These superstars will be seen with their guard down like never before, during shows. Most of the channel’s output consists of Bollywood celebrities hosting shows.

The channel has begun EPG data testing with video and audio tests set to begin shortly.

Details below of how viewers can manually tune in to the tests:

-> Find Channels and Press SELECT
-> Highlight 51040? service and press Yellow button.
-> Return to Services Menu
-> Other Channels (6) on STB / (8) on Sky+
