UK TV Reach: Star Plus tops; Colors follows behind

Star Plus remained the UK’s most watched Asian TV channel, even though its weekly reach dropped considerably, according to official BARB data for week ending Sunday 25th March 2018.

Star Plus registered a reach of 577,000 viewers – down from 615,000 viewers, followed by Colors with 378,000 viewers, Sony SAB TV with 370,000 viewers, Sony Entertainment Television with 312,000 viewers, Prime TV with 283,000 viewers, Hum TV with 278,000 viewers, Zing with 277,000 viewers, Star Bharat with 256,000 viewers, Hum Masala with 229,000 viewers, Venus TV with 222,000 viewers and ZEE TV with 218,000 viewers.

The next tier consisted of &TV with 194,000 viewers, Rishtey with 191,000 viewers, Geo TV with 187,000 viewers, PTC Punjabi with 139,000 viewers, PTV Global with 111,000 viewers, ATN Bangla with 96,000 viewers, Geo Kahani with 92,000 viewers, Akaal Channel with 68,000 viewers, NTV Europe with 67,000 viewers, ARY Family with 57,000 viewers, Urdu 1 Europe and Living Foodz with 5,000 viewers.

Movie genre
Star Gold bounced back to No.1 in the movie genre with a weekly reach of 460,000 viewers, followed by Sony MAX and Rishtey with 414,000 viewers and B4U Movies with 310,000 viewers. ZEE Cinema mustered in 303,000 viewers.

Music genre
B4U Music held on to the No.1 position in the music genre with a weekly reach of 189,000 viewers, followed by Brit Asia TV with 132,000 viewers, MTV Beats with 58,000 viewers and Sony Mix with 55,000 viewers.

News genre
Geo News dominated the South Asian news genre in the UK with a reach of 222,000 viewers, followed by New Vision TV with 173,000 viewers, Dunya News with 121,000 viewers and Samaa TV with 110,000 viewers. The others in the pecking order included ABP News with 109,000 viewers, 92 News with 84,000 viewers, NDTV 24×7 with 71,000 viewers, Aaj Tak with 56,000 viewers, UK44 with 53,000 viewers, News18 with 17,000 viewers and Times Now with 10,000 viewers.
