UK TV Reach: Star Plus on top with twice more than No.2

Star Plus remained the UK’s favourite Asian channel with twice the reach than its closest rival, according to official data from BARB for week ending 2nd April 2017.

It delivered a reach of 948,000 viewers (last week 905,000 viewers) – nearly twice that of No.2 channel, Colors with 484,000 viewers. The next in the batch included Sony SAB TV with 472,000 viewers, &TV with 442,000 viewers, Life OK with 428,000 viewers, Rsihtey Cineplex with 416,000 viewers, Star Gold with 405,000 viewers, B4U Music with 366,000 viewers, Zing with 362,000 viewers and Rishtey with 348,000 viewers.

The next tier consisted of Hum TV with 307,000 viewers, followed by Prime TV with 206,000 viewers, Geo TV with 190,000 viewers, Venus TV with 132,000 viewers, PTV Global and Star Utsav with 128,000 viewers, ATN Bangla with 122,000 viewers, PTC Punjabi with 118,000 viewers, Akaal Channel with 43,000 viewers and A Plus with just 34,000 viewers.

The top news channel in the South Asian news genre belonged to Geo News, which attracted 300,000 viewers, followed by Samaa TV with 249,000 viewers, Dunya News with 218,000 viewers and Geo Tez with 195,000 viewers. UK 44 was placed in fifth with 163,000 viewers, NDTV 24×7 with 130,000 viewers, Aaj Tak with 128,000 viewers, ABP News with 78,000 viewers, News18 with 45,000 viewers and Times Now with 31,000 viewers.
