Star Plus’ weekly reach fell but remained by far the UK’s most watched Asian TV channel, according to official BARB data for week ending Sunday 12th November.
Star Plus delivered a reach of 666,000 viewers (last week 893,000 viewers), followed by Colors with 392,000 viewers, Hum TV with 368,000 viewers, Sony Entertainment Television with 357,000 viewers and &TV with 349,000 viewers. The others that followed in the list were Star Bharat and Zing with 280,000 viewers, Rishtey with 234,000 viewers and Sony SAB TV with 229,000 viewers.
The bottom tier consisted of ZEE TV with 196,000 viewers, PTC Punjabi with 186,000 viewers, Geo TV with 178,000 viewers, Hum Masala with 154,000 viewers, Prime TV with 149,000 viewers, Geo Kahani with 143,000 viewers, NTV Europe with 138,000 viewers, Akaal Channel with 119,000 viewers, Star Utsav with 94,000 viewers, Venus TV with 89,000 viewers, ATN Bangla with 82,000 viewers, PTV Global with 77,000 viewers, ZEE Punjabi with 57,000 viewers, A Plus Europe with 39,000 viewers and Urdu 1 Europe with 30,000 viewers.
The biggest Asian movie channel in the UK was Star Gold with 394,000 viewers, followed by Rishtey Cineplex with 381,000 viewers and Sony MAX with 275,000 viewers. In fourth place, ZEE Cinema with 262,000 viewers and B4U Movies with 214,000 viewers.
Brit Asia TV emerged as the biggest Asian music channel with 242,000 viewers, followed by B4U Music with 212,000 viewers and Sony Mix with 54,000 viewers. MTV Beats slipped to the bottom with 41,000 viewers.
ABP News topped the South Asian news genre with 180,000 viewers, followed by Geo News with 174,000 viewers, NDTV 24×7 with 163,000 viewers and Aaj Tak with 152,000 viewers. The next tier consisted of New Vision TV with 138,000 viewers, Samaa TV with 114,000 viewers, Dunya News with 85,000 viewers, UK 44 with 60,000 viewers and Times Now with 32,000 viewers. News18 registered a zero rating.
