UK TV Reach: Star Plus, Star Gold & Star Bharat stay ahead

Despite Star Plus losing viewers in latest weekly reach data, it remained the UK’s top Asian TV channel, according to official BARB data for 1st October 2017.

Star Plus delivered a reach of 623,000 viewers (last week 740,000 viewers), followed by Zing with 368,000 viewers , Hum TV with 345,000 viewers and Star Bharat with 304,000 viewers. The next tier consisted of Rishtey with 282,000 viewers, Colors with 275,000 viewers, Sony Entertainment Television with 273,000 viewers, Hum Masala with 255,000 viewers, &TV with 250,000 viewers, Geo TV with 225,000 viewers and ZEE TV with 214,000 viewers.

The bottom tier consisted of Sony SAB TV with 210,000 viewers, followed by PTC Punjabi with 205,000 viewers, Akaal Channel with 179,000 viewers, Prime TV with 155,000 viewers, PTV Global with 128,000 viewers, Venus TV with 120,000 viewers, ATN Bangla with 114,000 viewers, Geo Kahani with 98,000 viewers, A Plus Europe with 39,000 viewers and ZEE Punjabi and Urdu 1 Europe with 38,000 viewers.

Movie genre
Star Gold topped the Asian movie genre with 387,000 viewers, followed by Sony MAX with 305,000 viewers and Rishtey Cineplex with 249,000 viewers. ZEE Cinema was in fourth with 226,000 viewers and B4U Movies next with 161,000 viewers.

Music genre
B4U Music remained the leading Asian music channel with 270,000 viewers, followed by Brit Asia TV with 167,000 viewers and MTV Beats with 46,000 viewers. Sony Mix was in fourth with 33,000 viewers.

News genre
New Vision TV ruled the South Asian news genre with 235,000 viewers, followed by Geo News with 206,000 viewers, ABP News with 202,000 viewers, Aaj Tak with 189,000 viewers, Samaa TV with 181,000 viewers, NDTV 24×7 with 179,000 viewers and Dunya News with 163,000 viewers. The bottom tier consisted of UK 44 with 100,000 viewers, followed by Times Now with 40,000 viewers and News18 with 5,000 viewers.
