UK TV Reach: Star Plus & Star Gold rule ratings

In a relatively quiet week for UK Asian TV channels, Star Plus and Star Gold ruled the pack with impressive weekly reach BARB data for week ending Sunday 9th April.

Star Plus remained the firm UK favourite amongst viewers with a reach of 864,000 viewers. However, it was down from 948,000 viewers last week. In fact, most of the Asian TV services declined in reach. Star Gold was at No.2 with 537,000 viewers – up from 405,000 viewers last week. ‘Shivaay’ (pictured) was the top movie on the channel with 19,000 viewers on Sunday at 20:00.

In third place was Colors with 461,000 viewers, followed by &TV with 427,000 viewers, Zing with 385,000 viewers, Rishtey with 377,000 viewers, Rishtey Cineplex with 375,000 viewers, Sony SAB TV and Hum TV with 343,000 viewers, Life OK with 312,000 viewers and B4U Music with 300,000 viewers.

The next tier consisted of Prime TV with 213,000 viewers, Geo TV with 189,000 viewers, PTC Punjabi with 175,000 viewers, Venus TV with 158,000 viewers, Star Utsav with 146,000 viewers, PTV Global with 108,000 viewers, Akaal Channel with 86,000 viewers, ATN Bangla with 75,000 viewers and A Plus Europe with 36,000 viewers.

The top rated South Asian news channel in the UK remained Geo News with 324,000 viewers (up from 300,000 viewers), followed by Samaa TV with 239,000 viewers, Geo Tez with 206,000 viewers and Dunya News with 154,000 viewers. NDTV 24×7 clocked up 137,000 viewers, followed by UK 44 with 116,000 viewers, ABP News with 82,000 viewers, Aaj Tak with 75,000 viewers, Times Now with 33,000 viewers and News18 with 13,000 viewers.
