UK TV Reach: Star Plus & Star Gold lead

Star Plus and Star Gold led in latest UK TV reach data, supplied by BARB for week ending Sunday 7th May.

The biggest Asian TV channel remain Star Plus with a weekly reach of 893,000 viewers, followed by Star Gold with an impressive 680,000 viewers – one of its biggest ever audiences. It was helped by the premiere of ‘Kaabil’ starring Hrithik Roshan and Yami Gautam, which with consolidated figures raked in a massive 101,000 viewers. ‘Pardes Mein Hai Mera Dil’ ruled Star Plus ratings with 206,000 viewers – making it the most watched show on UK Asian TV of the week.

The others in the pecking order were Colors with 506,000 viewers, Sony SAB TV with 481,000 viewers, Zing with 477,000 viewers, Rishtey Cineplex with 470,000 viewers, Hum TV with 386,000 viewers, B4U Music with 372,000 viewers, &TV with 354,000 viewers, Rishtey with 333,000 viewers, Geo TV with 214,000 viewers and Prime TV with 212,000 viewers.

On the South Asian news front, Geo News held on to the top spot with Geo News with 240,000 viewers, followed by NDTV 24×7 with 191,000 viewers, Samaa TV with 176,000 viewers, ABP News with 173,000 viewers, Geo Tez with 149,000 viewers UK 44 with 115,000 viewers and Dunya News with 113,000 viewers. The next tier belonged to Aaj Tak with 96,000 viewers, Times Now with 66,000 viewers and News18 with 28,000 viewers.
