UK TV Reach: Star Plus & Samaa TV take lead

There was no change on top in latest UK Asian TV ratings from BARB, according to official data for week ending Sunday 12th February.

Star Plus remained the nation’s favourite Asian TV channel with a reach of 903,000 viewers (last week 935,000 viewers), followed by Star Gold with 589,000 viewers (last week 474,000 viewers). The channel propelled with ‘Dishoom’ on Sunday raking in over 30,000 viewers, while ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ on the same day pulling in 18,000 viewers.

In third place was Rishtey Cineplex with 581,000 viewers (last week 487,000 viewers), followed by &TV with 539,000 viewers (last week 512,000 viewers), Zing with 480,000 viewers (last week 527,000 viewers), Sony SAB TV with 472,000 viewers (last week 568,000 viewers), Colors with 449,000 viewers (last week 531,000 viewers) and Rishtey with 440,000 viewers (last week 471,000 viewers).

The next tier consisted of Life OK with 420,000 viewers, followed by B4U Music with 389,000 viewers, Prime TV with 388,000 viewers, Hum TV with 320,000 viewers, Geo TV with 294,000 viewers, PTC Punjabi with 253,000 viewers, Brit Asia TV with 150,000 viewers, Venus TV with 141,000 viewers, ATN Bangla with 140,000 viewers, Star Utsav with 139,000 viewers, PTV Global with 109,000 viewers, Sikh Channel with 92,000 viewers and Akaal Channel with 87,000 viewers.

In the South Asian news genre, Samaa TV took lead with 235,000 viewers (last week 232,000 viewers). This is the first time Samaa TV has taken the lead in the South Asian news genre. This was followed by Geo News with 213,000 viewers, followed by ABP News with 196,000 viewers, Aaj Tak with 190,000 viewers, Geo Tez with 180,000 viewers, Dunya News with 167,000 viewers, NDTV 24×7 with 146,000 viewers, Times Now with 71,000 viewers and News18 with 44,000 viewers.
