UK TV Reach: Star Plus remains strong at No.1; Sony ahead of ZEE

In the first official weekly reach data provided by BARB, Sony Pictures Networks channels Sony Entertainment Television and Sony MAX surged well ahead of ZEE TV and ZEE Cinema.

According to official BARB data for Sunday 6th August, Sony TV registered 213,000 viewers, while Sony MAX delivered 345,000 viewers. Compared to old rivals, ZEE Network, ZEE TV fetched 191,000 viewers and ZEE Cinema with 152,000 viewers. Both channels were up from last week with ZEE TV garnering 121,000 viewers and ZEE Cinema with 102,000 viewers.

Despite the new additions on BARB, Star Plus remained the UK’s No.1 Asian channel with 752,000 viewers – up from 685,000 viewers (last week), followed by Colors with 524,000 viewers, Rishtey Cineplex with 479,000 viewers, Rishtey with 476,000 viewers, Star Gold with 416,000 viewers, Sony SAB TV with 372,000 viewers, Hum TV with 365,000 viewers, Sony MAX with 345,000 viewers, Life OK with 299,000 viewers, &TV with 286,000 viewers, Geo TV with 242,000 viewers, B4U Music with 237,000 viewers and Sony TV with 213,000 viewers.

The bottom tier consisted of Zing with 195,000 viewers, ZEE TV with 191,000 viewers, Prime TV with 178,000 viewers, Brit Asia TV with 172,000 viewers, PTV Global with 143,000 viewers, Venus TV with 139,000 viewers, B4U Movies with 109,000 viewers, ATN Bangla with 108,000 viewers, ZEE Punjabi with 94,000 viewers, PTC Punjabi with 90,000 viewers, MTV Beats with 88,000 viewers, Akaal Channel with 84,000 viewers, Star Utsav with 75,000 viewers, Sony Mix with 65,000 viewers, See TV with 64,000 viewers, A Plus Europe with 42,000 viewers and Urdu1 Europe with 40,000 viewers.
