UK TV Reach: Star Plus remains at No.1; Sony TV takes second

Star Plus remained the UK’s most watched Asian TV channel, while Sony Entertainment Television was a distant No.2, according to official data from BARB for week ending Sunday 25th February 2018.

Star Plus registered a weekly reach of 632,000 viewers – up from 604,000 viewers last week. It was followed by Sony TV with 338,000 viewers, Colors and PTC Punjabi with 324,000 viewers, &TV with 283,000 viewers, Hum TV with 276,000 viewers, Zing with 268,000 viewers, Sony SAB TV with 261,000 viewers, Star Bharat with 245,000 viewers, Hum Masala with 228,000 viewers and Prime TV with 227,000 viewers.

The next tier consisted of Venus TV with 217,000 viewers, ZEE TV with 183,000 viewers, Rishtey with 148,000 viewers, Geo Kahani with 141,000 viewers, Geo TV with 139,000 viewers, ZEE Punjabi with 137,000 viewers, PTV Global with 129,000 viewers, ATN Bangla with 105,000 viewers, NTV Europe with 96,000 viewers, Akaal Channel with 85,000 viewers, TV 99 with 54,000 viewers and ARY Family with 48,000 viewers.

Movie genre
Star Gold held on to the No.1 position in UK ratings with a reach of 388,000 viewers, followed by Sony MAX with 329,000 viewers, Rishtey Cineplex with 334,000 viewers, ZEE Cinema with 314,000 viewers and B4U Movies with 304,000 viewers.

Music genre
B4U Music returned to the No.1 position in the music genre with a reach of 233,000 viewers, followed by Brit Asia TV with 176,000 viewers, MTV Beats with 97,000 viewers and Sony Mix with 60,000 viewers.

News genre
Geo News was most watched South Asian news channel with a reach of 277,000 viewers, followed by New Vision TV with 267,000 viewers, ABP News with 213,000 viewers, NDTV 24×7 with 178,000 viewers, Dunya News with 158,000 viewers, Samaa TV with 140,000 viewers, Aaj Tak with 139,000 viewers. The next tier consisted of UK 44 with 94,000 viewers, 92 News with 50,000 viewers, News18 with 25,000 viewers and Times Now with 18,000 viewers.
