UK TV Reach: Star Plus remains dominant player

Star Plus remained the dominant player in UK ratings, increasing its weekly reach from last week, according to official data from BARB for week ending Sunday 10th December 2017.

Star Plus recorded a reach of 726,000 viewers – up from last week’s 626,000 viewers, followed by Colors with 442,000 viewers, Zing with 377,000 viewers, Hum TV with 375,000 viewers and Sony Entertainment Television with 333,000 viewers.

The next tier consisted of &TV with 292,000 viewers, Hum Masala with 279,000 viewers, Sony SAB TV with 264,000 viewers, Geo TV with 246,000 viewers, PTC Punjabi with 240,000 viewers, Prime TV with 222,000 viewers, ZEE TV with 218,000 viewers, Star Bharat with 188,000 viewers, Star Utsav with 151,000 viewers, Venus TV with 143,000 viewers, Rishtey with 142,000 viewers, NTV Europe with 117,000 viewers, Akaal Channel with 109,000 viewers, ZEE Punjabi with 106,000 viewers, ATN Bangla with 99,000 viewers, Geo Kahani with 83,000 viewers, PTV Global with 65,000 viewers, Urdu 1 Europe with 54,000 viewers and A Plus Europe with 39,000 viewers.

Movie genre
Star Gold stayed firm as the UK’s most watched Hindi movie channel with a share of 401,000 viewers, followed by Rishtey Cineplex with 274,000 viewers, B4U Movies with 262,000 viewers, ZEE Cinema with 258,000 viewers and Sony MAX with 249,000 viewers.

Music genre
B4U Music led the music genre again with a reach of 235,000 viewers, followed by MTV Beats and Brit Asia TV with 91,000 viewers and Sony Mix with 51,000 viewers.

News genre
Aaj Tak led the South Asian news genre in UK ratings with a reach of 215,000 viewers, followed by New Vision TV with 210,000 viewers, Geo News and ABP News with 182,000 viewers, NDTV 24×7 with 180,000 viewers, Dunya News with 176,000 viewers, Samaa TV with 95,000 viewers, UK 44 with 67,000 viewers, Times Now with 57,000 viewers and News18 with 8,000 viewers.
