UK TV Reach: Star Plus holds on tight to No.1

Star Plus remained the clear No.1 in latest weekly reach data in the UK, with nearly double the reach of its No.2 rival, according to official statistics from BARB for week ending Sunday 11th June.

Star Plus delivered 803,000 viewers – down from last week’s 870,000 viewers figure. ‘Yeh Hai Mohabbatein’ was the top show of the week with 181,000 viewers on the Monday evening, while ‘Naamkarann’ was placed in second with 180,000 viewers on Wednesday.

It was followed by Rishtey Cineplex with 451,000 viewers, &TV with 384,000 viewers, Hum TV with 374,000 viewers, Colors with 348,000 viewers, Sony SAB TV with 309,000 viewers, Geo TV with 303,000 viewers, Rishtey with 292,000 viewers, Zing with 288,000 viewers, Life OK with 252,000 viewers and Star Gold with 246,000 viewers.

The bottom tier consisted of B4U Music with 202,000 viewers, Prime TV with 192,000 viewers, PTC Punjabi with 169,000 viewers, Venus TV with 138,000 viewers, Star Utsav with 133,000 viewers, Brit Asia TV with 130,000 viewers, PTV Global with 124,000 viewers, Akaal Channel with 92,000 viewers, ATN Bangla with 89,000 viewers, See TV with 71,000 viewers and A Plus with 39,000 viewers.

The top rated South Asian news genre in the UK was New Vision TV with 295,000 viewers – beating Geo News for the first time, which clocked up 255,000 viewers, Aaj Tak with 179,000 viewers and Dunya News with 151,000 viewers. The next batch consisted of Samaa TV with 146,000 viewers, followed by NDTV 24×7 with 138,000 viewers, UK 44 with 135,000 viewers, ABP News with 133,000 viewers, News18 with 34,000 viewers and Times Now with 21,000 viewers.
