UK TV Reach: Star Plus extends lead again; Hum TV & Sony TV next

Star Plus extended its lead on top in latest UK Asian TV ratings, while Hum TV and Sony Entertainment Television jumped back to No.2 and 3, according to official data from BARB for week ending Sunday 19th November.

Star Plus delivered a weekly reach of 800,000 viewers (last week 666,000 viewers), followed by Hum TV with 397,000 viewers, Sony TV with 396,000 viewers, Star Bharat with 342,000 viewers, Colors with 329,000 viewers, &TV with 292,000 viewers, Sony SAB TV with 264,000 viewers, Zing with 257,000 viewers, Rishtey with 256,000 viewers and ZEE TV with 244,000 viewers.

The next tier consisted of Hum Masala with 188,000 viewers, Prime TV with 175,000 viewers, Star Utsav with 163,000 viewers, Geo TV and PTC Punjabi with 145,000 viewers, Akaal Channel with 116,000 viewers, PTV Global with 100,000 viewers, NTV Europe with 75,000 viewers, ATN Bangla with 71,000 viewers, Geo Kahani with 58,000 viewers, ZEE Punjabi with 49,000 viewers, Urdu 1 Europe with 47,000 viewers, A Plus Europe with 32,000 viewers and Venus TV with 29,000 viewers.

Movie genre
Star Gold remained the UK’s most watched Bollywood movie channel with a reach of 381,000 viewers, followed by Rishtey Cineplex with 354,000 viewers and ZEE Cinema in third with 301,000 viewers. Sony MAX was in fourth with 274,000 viewers and B4U Movies with 191,000 viewers.

Music genre
B4U Music gripped audiences with a reach of 259,000 viewers, followed by Brit Asia TV with 132,000 viewers, MTV Beats with 90,000 viewers and Sony Mix with 51,000 viewers.

News genre
NDTV 24×7 ruled the South Asian news genre with 163,000 viewers, followed by Geo News with 156,000 viewers and New Vision TV with 153,000 viewers. ABP News clocked up 137,000 viewers, Samaa TV with 130,000 viewers and Aaj Tak with 125,000 viewers. The bottom lot of channels were Dunya News with 122,000 viewers, UK 44 with 60,000 viewers, Times Now with 46,000 viewers and News18 with 16,000 viewers.
