UK TV Reach: Star Plus excels; Hum TV strong at No.2

Star Plus continued to dominate UK weekly reach data, while Hum TV strengthened its position at No.2, according to BARB numbers for week ending Sunday 24th December 2017.

Star Plus delivered a reach of 806,000 viewers, followed by Hum TV with 470,000 viewers, Zing with 414,000 viewers, Colors with 392,000 viewers, &TV with 342,000 viewers and Sony Entertainment Television with 334,000 viewers.

The next tier consisted of PTC Punjabi with 307,000 viewers, Rishtey with 242,000 viewers, Star Bharat with 240,000 viewers, Hum Masala with 224,000 viewers, ZEE TV with 201,000 viewers, Geo TV with 196,000 viewers, Prime TV with 143,000 viewers, ATN Bangla with 140,000 viewers, PTV Global with 131,000 viewers, Star Utsav with 126,000 viewers, Akaal Channel with 123,000 viewers, Venus TV with 117,000 viewers, NTV Europe with 115,000 viewers, ZEE Punjabi with 95,000 viewers, Geo Kahani with 58,000 viewers, A Plus Europe with 54,000 viewers and Urdu 1 Europe with 53,000 viewers.

Movies genre
Star Gold was the UK’s most watched Bollywood film channel with a reach of 477,000 viewers, followed by Sony MAX with 407,000 viewers, Rishtey Cineplex with 305,000 viewers, B4U Movies with 301,000 viewers and ZEE Cinema with 285,000 viewers.

Music genre
B4U Music generated a reach of 271,000 viewers, followed by Brit Asia TV with 135,000 viewers, MTV Beats with 73,000 viewers and Sony Mix with 71,000 viewers.

News genre
Geo News topped the South Asian news genre with a reach of 226,000 viewers, New Vision TV with 211,000 viewers and NDTV 24×7 with 155,000 viewers. The next in the pecking order were Samaa TV with 134,000 viewers, ABP News with 127,000 viewers, Aaj Tak with 126,000 viewers, Dunya News with 90,000 viewers, Times Now with 51,000 viewers, UK 44 with 45,000 viewers and News18 with 5,000 viewers.
