UK TV Reach: Star Plus declines but stays on top

Star Plus maintained its lead in UK weekly reach data but suffered a loss in viewership, according to official figures for week ending Sunday 31st January.

Star Plus recorded a reach of 816,000 viewers (last week 974,000 viewers) – one of its lowest weekly reaches for many months. UMP Movies returned to No.2 with 684,000 viewers (last week 595,000 viewers) and Colors slipped to No.3 with 575,000 viewers (last week 606,000 viewers). Rishtey was in fourth with 506,000 viewers (last week 444,000 viewers) and Star Gold with 493,000 viewers (last week 556,000 viewers).

The next tier consisted of &TV with 481,000 viewers, Hum TV with 466,000 viewers, Zing with 457,000 viewers, Geo TV with 391,000 viewers, SAB TV with 352,000 viewers and PTC Punjabi with 290,000 viewers.

The bottom tier consisted of Venus TV with 241,000 viewers, Prime TV with 234,000 viewers, Brit Asia TV with 178,000 viewers, PTV Global with 165,000 viewers, Sikh Channel with 121,000 viewers, Akaal Channel with 107,000 viewers, TV99 with 80,000 viewers and DM Global with 59,000 viewers.

ARY News continued to slide in the UK South Asian news genre with 361,000 viewers (last week 396,000 viewers). It was followed by Geo News with 298,000 viewers, Geo Tez with 274,000 viewers and SAMAA TV with 245,000 viewers. ABP News delivered 216,000 viewers, followed by Dunya TV with 187,000 viewers, Aaj Tak with 161,000 viewers, NDTV 24×7 with 148,000 viewers and News18 India with 53,000 viewers.
