UK TV Reach: Star Plus & ARY News stay on top

Star Plus and ARY News remained in their respective genres, with both channels losing viewership but comfortably remaining ahead of their rivals.

According to official data from BARB for week ending Sunday 3rd July, Star Plus was the most watched Asian channel with 876,000 viewers (last week 908,000 viewers), followed by UMP Movies with 603,000 viewers (last week 506,000 viewers), &TV with 585,000 viewers (last week 409,000 viewers), Rishtey with 456,000 viewers (last week 380,000 viewers) and Colors with 445,000 viewers (last week 424,000 viewers).

The next tier consisted of Hum TV with 435,000 viewers, Zing with 419,000 viewers, Star Gold with 409,000 viewers, SAB TV with 387,000 viewers, Life Ok with 344,000 viewers, Prime TV with 263,000 viewers and Geo TV with 251,000 viewers.

The bottom tier included PTC Punjabi with 201,000 viewers, followed by PTV Global with 174,000 viewers, Brit Asia TV with 158,000 viewers, Sikh Channel with 141,000 viewers, Akaal Channel with 125,000 viewers and Venus TV with 113,000 viewers.

ARY News ruled the UK Asian genre with 469,000 viewers (last week 462,000 viewers), followed by Geo Tez with 262,000 viewers, SAMAA TV with 255,000 viewers, Geo TV with 251,000 viewers and Dunya TV with 163,000 viewers. Indian channels followed next with Aaj Tak with 148,000 viewers, NDTV 24×7 with 142,000 viewers, ABP News with 128,000 viewers, News18 with 83,000 viewers and Times Now with 38,000 viewers.
