UK TV Reach: Star Gold storms ratings; Star Plus stays No.1

Star Gold stormed latest weekly reach data, while Star Plus easily remained at No.1, according to BARB figures for week ending Sunday 4th March 2018.

Star Gold delivered a huge reach of 550,000 viewers – its biggest since the channel faced competition from rival movie channels since joining the Sky Pack in August last year. Sony MAX was at No.2 with 417,000 viewers, followed by Rishtey Cineplex with 382,000 viewers, B4U Movies with 365,000 viewers and ZEE Cinema with 356,000 viewers.

Entertainment genre
Star Plus remained the UK’s most watched Asian TV channel with a reach of 669,000 viewers, followed by Hum Masala with 302,000 viewers, Sony TV with 297,000 viewers, Colors with 294,000 viewers, PTC Punjabi with 282,000 viewers, &TV with 273,000 viewers, Zing with 272,000 viewers, Sony SAB TV with 271,000 viewers, Prime TV with 261,000 viewers, Hum TV with 249,000 viewers, ZEE TV with 236,000 viewers and Rishtey with 214,000 viewers.

The next tier consisted of Star Bharat with 194,000 viewers, Venus TV with 168,000 viewers, PTV Global with 139,000 viewers, Geo TV with 116,000 viewers, NTV Europe with 112,000 viewers, Geo Kahani with 88,000 viewers, ATN Bangla with 87,000 viewers, TV99 with 82,000 viewers, Akaal Channel with 79,000 viewers, ARY Family with 55,000 viewers and ZEE Punjabi with 36,000 viewers.

Music genre
B4U Music clocked up a reach of 330,000 viewers, followed by Brit Asia TV with 254,000 viewers, Sony Mix with 151,000 viewers and MTV Beats with 119,000 viewers.

News genre
ABP News was the biggest South Asian news channel with a reach of 301,000 viewers, followed by NDTV 24×7 with 283,000 viewers, Geo News with 272,000 viewers, New Vision TV with 246,000 viewers, Aaj Tak with 168,000 viewers, Samaa News with 169,000 viewers, Dunya TV with 150,000 viewers, 92 News with 51,000 viewers, UK 44 with 48,000 viewers, News18 with 44,000 viewers and Times Now with 14,000 viewers.
