UK TV Reach: Star Gold moves up to No.3

Star Gold has held on to the top spot in the Indian movie genre in terms of UK television reach but also moved up to No.3 in latest data for week ending Sunday 6th November.

Since the exit of UMP Movies from the UK market, its replacement Rishtey Cineplex is still gaining ground, meanwhile Star Gold continues to go strength to strength. However, its sister channel, Star Plus remained the overall leader with a reach of 919,000 viewers (last week 872,000 viewers), followed by &TV with 642,000 viewers (last week 669,000 viewers) and Star Gold in third with 580,000 viewers (last week 532,000 viewers). In fourth was Zing with 557,000 viewers (last week 585,000 viewers) and Rishtey Cineplex with 557,000 viewers (last week 497,000 viewers).

The next tier consisted of Colors with 517,000 viewers, followed by Rishtey with 459,000 viewers, Hum TV with 389,000 viewers, Life Ok with 381,000 viewers and Sony SAB TV with 375,000 viewers.

The bottom tier consisted of Prime TV with 297,000 viewers, Star Utsav with 221,000 viewers, Venus TV with 202,000 viewers, PTV Global with 200,000 viewers, ATN Bangla with 183,000 viewers, Sikh Channel and Geo TV with 176,000 viewers, PTC Punjabi with 159,000 viewers, Akaal Channel with 91,000 viewers and Brit Asia TV with a zero rating.

ARY News stayed ahead of its news rivals by topping the South Asian news genre in the UK with a reach of 449,000 viewers (last week 531,000 viewers), followed by Geo News with 400,000 viewers and SAMAA TV with 300,000 viewers. In fourth place was Dunya TV with 294,000 viewers, Geo Tez with 205,000 viewers, Aaj Tak with 201,000 viewers, NDTV 24×7 with 191,000 viewers and ABP News with 175,000 viewers. The bottom two channels remained Times Now with 56,000 viewers and News18 with 10,000 viewers.
