UK TV Reach: Sony SAB TV returns to No.2

With a regular line-up of huge movie premieres and star-studded events, Sony SAB TV is regularly overtaking its rivals to take the No.2 spot, according to official data from BARB.

The channel returned to the No.2 position in weekly reach data for week ending Sunday 26th February. It recorded a reach of 577,000 viewers (last week 497,000 viewers). The movie ‘Sultan’, which aired on Saturday night during this week was watched by 47,000 viewers, while ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’ on Sunday at 16:00 pulled in 39,000 viewers and ‘Mere Brother Ki Dulhan’ on Sunday with 28,000 viewers.

The biggest channel of the week remained market leader, Star Plus with 917,000 viewers (last week 936,000 viewers), followed by Sony SAB TV with 577,000 viewers and &TV in third with 572,000 viewers. In fourth was Rishtey Cineplex with 553,000 viewers and Star Gold with 537,000 viewers.

The next tier consisted of Colors with 437,000 viewers, Zing with 417,000 viewers, Life OK with 434,000 viewers, Rishtey with 410,000 viewers, Hum TV with 395,000 viewers, Prime TV and B4U Music with 334,000 viewers.

The bottom tier consisted of Geo TV with 228,000 viewers, PTC Punjabi with 222,000 viewers, Venus TV with 128,000 viewers, PTV Global with 126,000 viewers, Star Utsav with 115,000 viewers, Akaal Channel and A Plus Europe with 102,000 viewers, ATN Bangla with 78,000 viewers, Sikh Channel with 75,000 viewers and Brit Asia TV rated zero.
