UK TV Reach: SAB TV climbs up to No.3

Sony SAB TV climbed up to No.3 in latest weekly reach data in the UK, according to official ratings from BARB for week ending Sunday 27th November 2016.

The channel’s mix of blockbuster movies and events have proved a huge hit amongst viewers. The biggest show on the channel during the week was the ’61st Filmfare Awards’ at 16:40, which delivered 53,000 viewers, followed by movie ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ with 27,000 viewers. ‘Baabul’ on Saturday raked in 19,000 viewers.

Star Plus remained the most watched Asian channel with 768,000 viewers (last week 752,000 viewers), followed by &TV with 604,000 viewers (last week 526,000 viewers) and Sony SAB TV with 513,000 viewers (last week 378,000 viewers), Zing with 510,000 viewers (last week 430,000 viewers), Colors with 506,000 viewers (last week 506,000 viewers) and Life Ok with 446,000 viewers (last week 337,000 viewers).

The next tier consisted of Rishtey Cineplex with 473,000 viewers, Star Gold with 416,000 viewers, Prime TV with 361,000 viewers, Rishtey with 388,000 viewers, Hum TV with 342,000 viewers, Sikh Channel with 216,000 viewers and Geo TV with 195,000 viewers.

The bottom tier consisted of Star Utsav with 170,000 viewers, followed by Venus TV with 167,000 viewers, ATN Bangla with 153,000 viewers, PTV Global with 145,000 viewers, PTC Punjabi with 109,000 viewers, Brit Asia TV with 92,000 viewers and Akaal Channel with 91,000 viewers.

ARY News stayed as the UK’s most watched South Asian news service with 426,000 viewers (last week 371,000 viewers), followed by Geo News with 231,000 viewers, Aaj Tak with 224,000 viewers and NDTV 24×7 with 221,000 viewers. The next tier consisted of ABP News with 187,000 viewers, SAMAA TV with 178,000 viewers, Geo Tez with 164,000 viewers, Dunya TV with 162,000 viewers, News18 with 42,000 viewers and Times Now with 35,000 viewers.
