UK TV Reach: News18 hits record low; Times Now up

In shocking viewing figures for Network18’s international news service, News18, the channel has delivered its lowest ever weekly reach.

According to official data from BARB for week ending Sunday 3rd April, News 18 slumped to just 8,000 viewers – down from 16,000 viewers last week. Incidentally, the channel goes under a revamp next with an introduction of new shows. It will be interesting to see if the new content will be enough to revive the channel’s ratings.

The news genre continued to lead with ARY News attracting 496,000 viewers (last week 490,000 viewers). Geo News performed exceptionally well with one of its best ever weekly reach. The channel recorded 366,000 viewers, followed by SAMAA TV with 266,000 viewers. Aaj Tak was in fourth with 262,000 viewers, Dunya TV with 211,000 viewers, Geo Tez with 200,000 viewers, NDTV 24×7 with 184,000 viewers, ABP News with 182,000 viewers.

Newly launched Indian English news channel, Times Now surged from 39,000 viewers to 65,000 viewers.
