UK TV Reach: Hum TV moves to No.2; others slip

Hum TV’s popularity rose in latest ratings and moved up to No.2, according to official data from BARB for week ending Sunday 15th May.

In the news genre, Network18 owned channel News18 went up, while NDTV 24×7 slumped in the week in question.

Star Plus remained the UK’s most watched Asian channel with 851,000 viewers but down on last week’s reach of 945,000 viewers. Hum TV gained, while others lost out with a reach of 538,000 viewers (last week 486,000 viewers), followed by &TV with 533,000 viewers (last week 468,000 viewers), Rishtey with 517,000 viewers (last week 529,000 viewers) and Colors with 441,000 viewers (last week 518,000 viewers).

The next tier consisted of Star Gold with 429,000 viewers, SAB TV with 386,000 viewers, Life Ok with 366,000 viewers, Zing with 363,000 viewers and Prime TV with 316,000 viewers.

The bottom tier consisted of Geo TV with 214,000 viewers, PTV Global with 202,000 viewers, Venus TV with 153,000 viewers, Brit Asia TV with 132,000 viewers, PTC Punjabi with 130,000 viewers, Sikh Channel with 95,000 viewers and Akaal Channel with 67,000 viewers.

ARY News held on to the mantle as the UK’s most watched South Asian news channel with 471,000 viewers (last week 544,000 viewers), followed by Geo News with 355,000 viewers (last week 368,000 viewers) and Geo Tez with 265,000 (last week 200,000 viewers). SAMAA TV was in fourth with 249,000 viewers, followed by Dunya TV with 238,000 viewers, ABP News with 166,000 viewers, Aaj Tak with 145,000 viewers, News18 India with 84,000 viewers, NDTV 24×7 with 82,000 viewers and Times Now was last with just 5,000 viewers.
