UK TV Reach: Geo News trounces ARY World in launch week

New Vision TV’s plans to bring back ARY World to the UK market has not had the type of impact on its rivals that was predicted by some of the industry.

According to official weekly reach data from BARB for week ending 21st May 2017, Geo News was the ultimate leader with nearly double the audience of its arch-rival, ARY World. Geo News delivered a staggering 359,000 viewers, while ARY World could only manage 191,000 viewers. Whilst its still early days, New Vision TV that is running ARY World have big marketing plans to push the channel in the UK market. This is the first official weekly reach data that has been released since ARY World launch on the Sky platform in March.

Other South Asian news channels that did well this week include Samaa TV with 233,000 viewers, Geo Tez with 214,000 viewers, NDTV 24×7 with 203,000 viewers and Aaj Tak with 184,000 viewers.

The bottom tier consisted of Dunya News with 172,000 viewers, UK 44 with 166,000 viewers, ABP News with 138,000 viewers, News18 with 35,000 viewers and Times Now with 27,000 viewers.
