UK TV Reach: Colors & Star Gold plunge

Colors, Star Gold, Aaj Tak, Venus TV and Brit Asia TV delivered record low weekly reach data, according to official figures from BARB for week ending Sunday 12th June.

Despite Ramadhan and the seasonal warm weather, Star Plus remained the nation’s favourite Asian channel with a reach of 906,000 viewers (last week 930,000 viewers), followed by UMP Movies with 530,000 viewers (last week 599,000 viewers) and Rishtey in third with 524,000 viewers (last week 514,000 viewers). &TV was next with 478,000 viewers (last week 481,000 viewers), Hum TV was in fifth with 474,000 viewers (last week 442,000 viewers). Zing registered 410,000 viewers (last week 439,000 viewers).

Colors slumped to just 374,000 viewers (last week 505,000 viewers), followed by Prime TV with 355,000 viewers (last week 337,000 viewers), Geo TV with 349,000 viewers (last week 201,000 viewers), Life Ok with 342,000 viewers (last week 445,000 viewers) and SAB TV with 332,000 viewers (last week 395,000 viewers).

The bottom tier consisted of Star Gold with a surprisingly low 243,000 viewers (last week 446,000 viewers), followed by PTC Punjabi with 180,000 viewers, Sikh Channel with 145,000 viewers, PTV Global with 132,000 viewers, Venus TV with 93,000 viewers, Akaal Channel with 92,000 viewers, Brit Asia TV sat bottom with a record low of 57,000 viewers.

ARY News thrashed all opposition by breaking pass the half a million mark again. The channel delivered an impressive reach of 520,000 viewers (last week 358,000 viewers), followed by Geo News with 353,000 viewers, SAMAA TV with 265,000 viewers, Geo Tez with 221,000 viewers and Dunya TV with 216,000 viewers. ABP News led the Indian news genre with 176,000 viewers, followed by NDTV 24×7 with 151,000 viewers, Times Now with 97,000 viewers, News18 with 66,000 viewers and Aaj Tak slumped to just 64,000 viewers.
