UK TV Reach: Colors inches closer to Star Plus

Colors has been growing in UK ratings recently on the back of reality show ‘Rising Star 2’ but Star Plus remained the distant leader, according to BARB data for week ending Sunday 1st April 2018.

Star Plus registered a weekly reach of 600,000 viewers, with Colors settling at No.2 with 459,000 viewers. The rest of the pecking order had the following channels – Sony SAB TV with 370,000 viewers, ZEE TV with 263,000 viewers, Hum Masala with 262,000 viewers, Sony Entertainment Television with 251,000 viewers, Hum TV with 248,000 viewers, Zing with 245,000 viewers, Star Bharat with 243,000 viewers, &TV with 226,000 viewers and Rishtey with 216,000 viewers.

The bottom tier consisted of Geo TV with 182,000 viewers, Prime TV with 150,000 viewers, ATN Bangla with 136,000 viewers, PTC Punjabi with 124,000 viewers, NTV Europe with 112,000 viewers, Venus TV with 99,000 viewers, Geo Kahani with 82,000 viewers, Living Foodz with 67,000 viewers, ARY Family with 65,000 viewers, TV 99 with 55,000 viewers, Akaal Channel with 50,000 viewers, Urdu 1 Europe with 46,000 viewers and PTV Global with 4,000 viewers.

Movie genre
Star Gold remained the UK’s top Indian film channel with 450,000 viewers, followed by Sony MAX with 407,000 viewers, ZEE Cinema with 375,000 viewers, Rishtey Cineplex with 373,000 viewers and B4U Movies with 156,000 viewers.

Music genre
B4U Music led the South Asian music genre with a reach of 220,000 viewers, followed by Brit Asia TV with 124,000 viewers, MTV Beats with 92,000 viewers and Sony Mix with 65,000 viewers.

News genre
Geo News topped the South Asian news genre in the UK with 219,000 viewers, followed by New Vision TV with 139,000 viewers, NDTV 24×7 with 133,000 viewers, Samaa TV with 111,000 viewers, Dunya News with 102,000 viewers, ABP News with 86,000 viewers, Aaj Tak with 53,000 viewers, 92 News with 52,000 viewers, UK 44 with 44,000 viewers and News18 with 0.
