UK TV Reach: Colors gains; Star Gold & &TV slip

It was an eventful week for UK Asian TV channels, with the likes of Star Plus and Colors increasing its weekly reach, while Star Gold and &TV plummeted, according to official data from BARB for week ending Sunday 4th June.

Star Plus held on to the mantle as the UK’s top rated Asian TV channel with a reach of 870,000 viewers, followed by Colors with 514,000 viewers, Rishtey with 403,000 viewers and Sony SAB TV with 392,000 viewers.

The next batch included Rishtey Cineplex with 388,000 viewers, Hum TV with 370,000 viewers, &TV with 368,000 viewers, Life OK with 355,000 viewers, Zing with 306,000 viewers and Geo TV with 277,000 viewers.

The bottom tier consisted of B4U Music with 250,000 viewers, Prime TV with 212,000 viewers, Akaal Channel with 156,000 viewers, PTV Global with 149,000 viewers, Brit Asia TV with 107,000 viewers, PTC Punjabi with 95,000 viewers, Venus TV with 92,000 viewers, Star Utsav with 84,000 viewers, A Plus with 45,000 viewers and See TV was in last position with 41,000 viewers.

Geo News remained the UK’s most watched South Asian news channel with 377,000 viewers, followed by New Vision with 287,000 viewers and Aaj Tak with 202,000 viewers. Dunya News registered 183,000 viewers, followed by ABP News with 181,000 viewers, NDTV 24×7 with 162,000 viewers, Samaa TV with 152,000 viewers, UK 44 with 92,000 viewers, Times Now with 17,000 viewers and News18 reported a zero rating.
