UK release date announced for ‘Arranged Love’, following acclaimed Australian run
The English‑language feature film ‘Arranged Love’, which achieved notable success following its release in Australia, is scheduled to make its United Kingdom debut on 13 March 2026. Distributed by Blue Sapphire Films, the production offers a contemporary interpretation of the romantic‑comedy genre, framed through the experiences of the South Asian diaspora and the cultural ties shared between Australia and the UK.
Directed by Sanjane Koneshamoorthy, ‘Arranged Love’ reimagines familiar romantic‑comedy conventions by examining the interplay between realism and idealism. Set within a diverse multicultural community, the narrative follows Merunasri and Dhaventhiran, whose lives intersect when a group of well‑meaning community elders attempts to arrange a match between them.
Reflecting on the film’s forthcoming UK release, Koneshamoorthy emphasised the importance of portraying immigrant identities with greater nuance, noting that themes of transformation, connection and the unpredictability of love resonate across cultures and locations.
The film’s soundtrack, released globally by Divo under the Warner Music Group umbrella, features performances by the internationally recognised vocalist Kamahl and Janaki Easwar, known for her appearance on The Voice Australia. Their contributions add further emotional depth to the film.
Lead actors Fatema Khan and Atharv Kolhatkar head the ensemble cast, bringing warmth and subtlety to a story that blends romantic elements with culturally grounded storytelling.
