Zing touches new high in UK ratings

ZEE’s showbiz channel, Zing has touched a new high in the UK ratings, according to weekly reach data for week ending Sunday 2nd December.

The channel has been on a high of late, with recent new shows gelling well with viewers. As BizAsia revealed last week, the two shows consistently delivering numbers for the channel are daily news programme ‘Bollywood Bulletin’ and ‘Two To Tango’. The latest to do well for the channel is ‘Ten On Ten’, which was the most watched show on the channel this week with a viewership of 34,900. ‘Bollywood Bulletin’ averaged around the same time too over the week. Zing’s total weekly reach touch a high of 568,000.

Star Plus, which remained the market leader was another one that has done extremely well this week with a ratings high of 1,251,000. During this week, the drama serial ‘Iss Pyar Ko Kya Naam Doon’ ended on a high, bowing out with a consolidated audience of 278,600 on Friday 30th November. One of the show’s biggest ever audiences.

Rishtey was in second place with 724,000. UMP Movies was in third with 697,000. Star Gold was in fourth with 610,000. Zing in fifth. Star Life Ok was steady with 528,000.

Sony SAB TV also reached its highest figures this week with 301,000, followed by Sunrise TV with 298,000 and Sahara One with 280,000, then UMP Stars with 262,000. 9XM was slowly climbing up the chart with 118,000.

The news genre saw Al Jazeera English come down in weekly reach to 705,000, followed by ARY News with 420,000 and then Aaj Tak with a further push in ratings – it had 327,000.
