UK ratings: Zing overtakes Star Life Ok

Zing has overtaken Star TV’s second Hindi entertainment channel, Life Ok in the latest round of UK ratings from BARB.

Data for week ending Sunday 14th October shows Zing with a weekly reach of 476,000 – ahead of Star Life Ok, which was down slightly to 414,000. Zing has recently revamped its output with the addition of Bollywood movies daily and new primetime shows. Star Life Ok is expected to pick up in the coming days with the recent launch of ‘Ram Leela’.

Star Plus remained the market leader with 1,208,000, while UMP Movies was back up to second with 697,000. Star Gold slipped to third with 614,000.

The bottom tier consisted of Sunrise TV with 372,000, meanwhile Sahara One was next with 242,000. UMP Stars was steady with 222,000 and Sony SAB TV in last with 175,000.

ARY News took a tumble this week with 369,000 and Al Jazeera English remained the most watched Asian news channel in the UK with 709,000.
