UK ratings: Zing overtakes Colors; takes No.2

In a record breaking week for Zing, the channel has overtaken channels like Colors, Rishtey, UMP Movies and Hum TV to clinch the number two position, according to official data from BARB for week ending Sunday 29th March.

The news will no doubt be welcoming for ZEE Network, which recently overhauled Zing’s programming schedule last month. Zing delivered a massive reach of 776,000 viewers (last week 498,000) and sits behind Star Plus, which continued to reign at the top with 1,094,000 viewers (last week 1,098,000 viewers).

In third place was UMP Movies with 729,000 viewers (last week 611,000 viewers), followed by Colors with 628,000 viewers (last week 687,000 viewers), Lamhe got a record 602,000 viewers (last week 466,000 viewers), SAB TV also rocketed with 548,000 viewers (last week 367,000 viewers). Hum TV and Star Gold both reported a reach of 531,000 viewers and Rishtey was in eighth with 510,000 viewers (last week 636,000 viewers) and Life Ok with 443,000 viewers (last week 300,000 viewers).

The next tier consisted of DM Global with 306,000 viewers (last week 134,000 viewers), followed by Prime TV with 217,000 viewers (last week 298,000 viewers), PTC Punjabi with 214,000 viewers (last week 163,000 viewers), PTV Global with 187,000 viewers (last week 172,000 viewers), Geo TV with 176,000 viewers (last week 267,000 viewers), Venus TV with 172,000 viewers (last week 129,000 viewers), Sikh Channel with 165,000 viewers (last week 90,000 viewers) and Brit Asia TV slumped further to 70,000 viewers (last week 97,000 viewers).

ARY News stayed top with 467,000 viewers (last week 437,000 viewers), followed by Geo Tez with 311,000 viewers (last week 256,000 viewers) and NDTV 24×7 with 239,000 viewers (last week 145,000 viewers). The next tier consisted of SAMAA TV with 253,000 viewers (last week 234,000 viewers), Geo News with 235,000 viewers (last week 297,000 viewers), Aaj Tak with 219,000 viewers (last week 204,000 viewers), ABP News with 210,000 viewers (last week 236,000 viewers) and News18 India with 86,000 viewers (last week 49,000 viewers).
