UK ratings: Zing & Hum TV overtake Rishtey

Zing and Hum TV delivered big enough ratings to overtake Rishtey in the latest round of official ratings.

According to data for week ending Sunday 10th May 2015, Star Plus remained the most watched Asian channel in the UK despite losing 53,000 viewers. The channel fetched 955,000 viewers (last week 1,008,000 viewers), followed by UMP Movies with 762,000 viewers (last week 919,000 viewers) and Colors in third with 646,000 viewers (last week 635,000 viewers). Zing was in fourth place with a respectable 594,000 viewers (last week 539,000 viewers) and Hum TV in fifth with 563,000 viewers (last week 566,000 viewers).

The next tier consisted of Rishtey with 555,000 viewers, SAB TV with 511,000 viewers, Star Gold with 450,000 viewers and Life Ok with 399,000 viewers.

The bottom tier saw the likes of PTV Global with 199,000 viewers, Prime TV with 194,000 viewers, DM Global with 185,000 viewers, Brit Asia TV with 180,000 viewers, Geo TV with 176,000 viewers, PTC Punjabi with 159,000 viewers, Sikh Channel with 140,000 viewers and Venus TV with 90,000 viewers.

ARY News remained the first choice amongst South Asian news channels with a reach of 454,000 viewers (last week 505,000 viewers), while Hindi news channels clocked up ratings mainly down to coverage of Salman Khan’s verdict. ABP News was top with 316,000 viewers, followed by Urdu news channel Geo News came in third with 294,000 viewers and Hindi news channel Aaj Tak with 282,000 viewers. Geo Tez was in fifth with 247,000 viewers, followed by NDTV 24×7 in sixth with 239,000 viewers. SAMAA TV managed 200,000 viewers and News18 India with 127,000 viewers.
